# powRSS

> powRSS is a curated, human-maintained RSS feed aggregator dedicated to the indie web — a place to discover personal blogs, tiny publications, and independent websites free from algorithmic noise, ads, and corporate feeds.

powRSS aggregates RSS and Atom feeds from hundreds of independent bloggers and writers across the world. It is built for people who believe the open, personal web matters — bloggers, readers, writers, RSS enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to explore what real humans are publishing outside of social media silos.

The project is created and maintained by Pablo Enoc, a software developer and educator based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

## What powRSS Is

powRSS is best understood as a community feed reader and blog discovery platform for the independent web. It is not a general-purpose RSS reader — it is a curated aggregator. Every blog in the directory has been submitted and accepted by a human. The collection includes:

- Personal blogs (by far the largest category)
- Technology and software development blogs
- Writing, philosophy, and culture blogs
- Blogs in multiple languages including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Italian, Romanian, Bosnian, and Chinese

## Key Concepts

**RSS (Really Simple Syndication)**: A web standard that lets websites publish a machine-readable feed of their content. RSS is the foundational technology powRSS is built around. powRSS also supports Atom feeds.

**Shuffle mode**: Visit https://powrss.com/shuffle to browse all posts regardless of publishing date — useful for finding older content from blogs going back to 1995.

**Random post**: Visit https://powrss.com/random to jump to a random post from any blog in the directory.

**View a specific blog's feed**: Each blog has its own page, e.g. https://powrss.com/feeds/9 — these pages show the feed's posts, stats, and metadata.

**Submit your blog**: If you have a personal blog or independent site with an RSS or Atom feed, you can request to be added via the form at https://powrss.com/join or by emailing join@powrss.com.
