I'm getting into the weeds of camera fundamentals and physics.I was talking with my friend who lent me this camera regarding the focus customization of it in real-world use after my comment a few days ago.The camera focuses fine! I captured this photo handheld from above. It has great focus on the...

2026-06-28Hello! While sorting through my digital pile of files and folders, I found these old images from a New York City photoshoot. With professional gear that I borrowed for this event, I pointed the camera and got in close to a model dressed up all sinister. They had covered their entire face in bright makeup...

2026-06-27Hello! First, a technical note: I'm using tags now. I've always organized my photos and articles behind the scenes, but I think I'm ready to let readers see the chaos of my photography sorted a different way. Linked at the bottom of every page is my index of tags connecting, like a spiderweb, to every...

2026-06-26Hello!I borrowed a friend's camera to test the "microscope mode" on this leaf. It worked out better than I expected; I can see the individual dots on the leaf, and capture the small raindrops. While on my rainy photowalk continued from yesterday, I walked into the woods to see what interesting leaves,...

2026-06-25Hello! This is not my camera!Using a compact fixed-lens camera borrowed from a friend, I captured the underside of my blue umbrella at close distance. The black stretchers reflect the green of the grass floor below as the rainy sky drops rain from above.I went to a park and wandered around for about two...

2026-06-21Hello! My camera is still out of order, and I'm still cleaning up my photography files.I'm also trying to get over the fact that internet strangers are outnumbering people I know in my readership audience. That's not just people who I know offline, but anyone who has sent me an email and said hi. There's...
