Here's how you get some focused writing done. You go to a cozy café, find a nice table, you sit down with your laptop, order your coffee and then you discover that, right across the room from you and with his back to you sits a guy who doesn't understand why belts exist or why shirts should be tucked into pants......
I watched my first Adam Elliot movie yesterday—Memoir of a Snail—and now I am enchanted by his life-affirming tales about lovable misfits. Many aspects surrounding his craft are unique and appealing to me: the hand-made claymation, the exceptional work of the voice actors, the Australian accents and cultural jokes,...
When you’re a blogger, one of the things you do is talk about blogging. A lot of people do this. Yeah, that was all from the last few weeks. Not a day goes by that I don’t see at least one blogger talk about blogging. There’s nothing wrong with this. As referenced above, I do it too. I just find it funny that often...
Rating: 🟩 Type: Non-Fiction I never read John Green's YA fiction, since I was not a "YA" when I first came across it, BUT, I absolutely adored Crash Course History, and the way John thinks on Vlog Brothers. Impassioned discussion of winter and rainy days. The joys of 'bad' weather and bliss of stormy periods. Waxing lyrical on being snugged up with nature takes course around oneself.
As a software engineer who's been through the cycle of tooling bloat and complexity creep, I've come full circle to embrace radical simplicity. After years of wrestling with heavyweight IDEs, managing dozens of extensions, and debugging my development environment more than my actual code, I've distilled my entire...
If you are thinking about using an LLM to communicate with me, you will be glad to hear I’ve just developed an exciting new technique which will save us both time. Rarely are such wins possible, so this is surely cause for a celebration. The technique goes as follows: Type up your LLM prompt, (Here’s where it gets...

In Chromium 139, CSS gets a new corner-shape property which unlocks some cool new CSS tricks. Most notably it gives us “squircles”, the mathematical superellipse shape introduced by Apple in iOS 7. Designers have been in love with them ever since and include them in every design comp using Figma’s “corner-smoothing”...
Day 20: How do you like to watch movies? Are you a theater goer, a streamer, or do you like physical media? I like to see a movie once or twice every three months. It just depends on the kind of movie I’m looking to see. I really think theaters do a great job with their fantastic video and sound. But for the...
