Engineering and experimental music. I am interested in amateur radio, particularly in homebrewing equipment. I hold an Extra License with the callsign KO0I, but I’ve only recently found the space to build my HF antenna. I have been playing with RepRap machines for many years (since 2010) and presently own my best approximation of a Prusa i3, I use it to print all kinds of things. I enjoy gardening, zero-waste, tinkering, trading, being outdoors, and bicycling.

After a few iterations, I came to the following: find . -name '*.zip' -exec sh -c 'unzip -d "${0%.zip}" "$0"' {} \; But if any of the zip archives were already extracted, I...
Some Background On the advice of my advisor noting a “well fortified” set of classes taken so far, I am taking a class this semester in a different area from my normal electrical engineering classes. The class covers Max/MSP, a visual programming environment for audio and video processing. I am more interested in...
Why? I’m getting tired of streaming services when I have media on my machine that I’d like to stream. Having things gathered up allows for a more reliable source for the media. I also wanted to have a uniform experience across devices accessing my own personal media library. Finally, I wanted the option to extend...
3D Printing Practical Items, Overview of A Process I’ve been using OpenSCAD to create things to 3D-print for years now, and it can be a simple and fulfilling process to build up something useful from simple geometric primitives. OpenSCAD is a “programmer’s CAD” where the models are written up in text, a bit like a...
