Pushing data to and from your Android device requires a dedicated app like FolderSync. It is a solid tool that supports many popular cloud services and protocols, but it's a closed source paid app. So if you are running an alternative ROM on your Android device, or you prefer to use open-source software, Round Sync...
I didn't plan to go to NUE on Wednesday. But a couple of potentially interesting airplanes showed up in the airport schedule, and the weather was simply too good to stay indoors. So my wife and I decided to swing by NUE, do a short photography session ,and grab something to eat in Nuremberg afterward.
Last Saturday, my wife joined me on my weekly pilgrimage to NUE. The weather couldn't be better: +21ºC, clear skies, no wind. In other words, a rather unusual weather for mid-April in Germany. I was lucky to capture a 48-year-old Learjet 36A operated by Skyline Aviation (reg. N116MA), and then we feasted on bagels...
OK, not quite, but close enough: it has a horn after all. Last night, I noticed that a Falcon 20E-5 operated by Deutsche Forschungsanstalt für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) was scheduled to depart next day. Based on the wind direction, I made an educated guess that the airplane will depart from RWY 28, so I made a trek...
We spent a week in Denmark, taking care of, um, things. Even though we were quite busy, I managed to find time to visit XFW in Hamburg on our way Northern Jutland, AAL while staying with my in-laws in Sæby, and AMS on the return trip.
I bought a ZTE U10S Pro 4G mobile hotspot, because 1) I don't like to use my Fairphone 5 as a hotspot, 2) there are times when I need to use several devices when traveling, 3) it was really cheap.
Sometimes flight schedules are as predictable as the copy dialog in Windows, which adds a modicum of excitement to the aircraft photography pursuit. My attempts to catch a rather special aircraft the other day is a case in point. Checking arrivals and departures in Flightradar24, I noticed that a Dassault Falcon...
Another weekend, another trip to Frankfurt am Main. I spent a few hours in (surprise, surprise!) Zeppelinheim, capturing takeoffs. There were only few highlights, but one of them was an Air India Airbus A250-900 featuring new livery (which is pretty bland, if you ask me). The weather was wonderful, though, I had my...
Friday evening, my home server became unreachable through its domain name. That also meant that all my self-hosted applications weren't reachable either. Exactly what you need on a Friday evening, the day before you're going away for the weekend. /s
> Depending on how you count, there are just two to four builders of large commercial aircraft (Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and now COMAC). [...] The number of participants is small partly because of the inherent technical difficulty and partly it’s because success typically requires spending billions of dollars. It...
Lieber Mensch! It was so windy today. I didn't expect that, and I didn't expect anything interesting landing or departing either. So it has been a rather short flying visit to NUE.
With a couple of right cables and adapters, you can stream the video output of a camera to an iPad.
